First Visit

Thank you for choosing our office for all your periodontal and dental implant care needs. We have created a comfortable environment where you can feel confident in the level of dental care you receive.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

During your first visit, our objective is to get to know you better, to become familiar with your past dental experiences and to establish a treatment plan that will best meet your current desires. When you arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms. Also, please assist us by providing the following information:

  • X-rays taken within the past six months.
  • If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance card. This will enable us to give you an estimate of your costs.

Comprehensive Exam

Your initial exam will generally last from one hour to one and a half hours. Your doctor will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums, and provide an evaluation outlining your periodontal condition, and the best treatment method for your case. We encourage you to ask questions. We’ll be glad to discuss any concerns you may have.

Open Communication

We believe that good dental care begins with open communication. We promise to speak candidly with you about our diagnosis and recommendations, any alternative treatments, and any symptoms present that may require further treatment. Dr. Pontikas will also send a comprehensive report to your dentist to keep them informed.

Payment

It is our mission to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget! We offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs. Our office accepts payments by cash, checks, and Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. We also offer low- and no-interest financing options through the CareCredit system. If you have any questions about financing or payment, ask us! We will thoroughly explain your choices and work hard to accommodate your needs.

Insurance

If your insurance covers periodontal or dental implant treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Insurance policies vary, so we will review your insurance to determine the appropriate course of action. Once treatment has started, we will file your claims.
To help us with your insurance filing, we will collect your insurance information when we schedule your new patient appointment. Please remember that insurance is a benefit for you or your child. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.
